Thanks for advice,
but the problem with Direct3D is that there is no much information on it. It looks like black box to me and DirectDraw is better documented with not only samples but rather wide variety of books as electronical and hard copy.

There are about 1000 books on Direct3D -- What do you mean there isn't a lot of information on it? Just goto amazon and type in Direct3D, 3D graphics, 99% of the books are using Direct3D.

Eh...? Check Amazon.com - there are MANY good D3D books. And DrunkenHyenaGameDev have both great tutorials. And don't use the application framework (the AppWizard) that comes with DX SDK. It's a lot easier without it.
